Verizon readying Samsung i770 for launch

leave a comment »

It appears Verizon is preparing to launch Samsung i770 in Q3 along with Samsung i810 according to Engadget Mobile. Given that there is only a month remaining in Q3, we can safely bet that it will launch in September :). The i770 is a Blackberry clone that runs Windows Mobile 6.1, operates on quad-band GSM and dual-band CDMA for worldwide roaming, EV-DO, Wi-Fi and 2Mpxl camera. Now, this is a pretty run-of-the-mill phone with potential fingerprint security. No pricing has been released yet, but should be relatively cheap given that it is not a smartphone and has very basic features.

The i810 is a clamshell phone with similar features as the i770 except that it does not operate on CDMA nor does it have Wi-Fi.
