Puma along with Sagem is getting ready to announce a sports-centric, solar powered cell phone at the next week’s Mobile World Congress. According to the teaser site, this phone will have a solar-panel at the back and a solar-meter app. In addition, it cannot be a sports-centric phone without some sport-centric apps like pedometer, bike and run tracking meter, sports-news app, and apps to access PUMA World, the online Puma Community, Puma branded games and product info. It also has conventional smartphone apps like video chat and photo sharing, which implies dual cameras – front and back, gps, and a “music turntable”. You can see the teaser site here. Samsung today announced a new slider, the UltraTOUCH S8300. As the name suggests, the phone has a touchscreen and because it is a slider, it also has numerical keypad. The phone runs Symbian S60 OS with Samsung’s customized UI which got updated for launch at Mobile World Congress next week in Barcelona. Here are the specs for this phone:

It appears that the Nokia E75 decided to take a Vietnamese cultural tour before its launch party at the Mobile World Congress. I guess it wanted to brush up on its language skills before making an appearance on the world stage. Anyways, that is good news for us because now we have some photos to see. According to leaked photos and specs, LG is set to announce its first touchscreen media phone with an updated UI that looks very much like the iPhone UI. The phone called LG Arena comes with 5Mpxl camera with DVD quality video recording, DivX playback, WiFi, and built-in GPS. The phone will launch in Europe in March with possible announcement at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in two weeks.
Samsung is busy prepping for the Mobile World Congress with some exciting news in addition to the earlier 12Mpxl cameraphone. First up, it appears that a successor to the popular innov8, the 8Mpxl camera phone, is in works, this time with 3X optical zoom.

Last, but most importantly, Samsung will launch an Android based phone at the MWC in Barcelona. So, if you are a Samsung fan, hold on to your hat, because it is going to get fast and furious over the next few weeks.
Rumors abound that Samsung is working on world’s first 12Mpxl cameraphone, similar to its popular 8Mpxl innov8. Samsung is planning to announce the phone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month. Details are sketchy about the exact feature set of the phone itself, but Samsung is planning to put the phone in production by end of February and launch it in Europe shortly after.
Rumors has it that Samsung is working on two new Windows Mobile based phones code-named Louvre and Pilot which it will launch at the upcoming Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona. The Louvre is Windows Mobile 6.1 based phone which has a similar form factor as the TynTn II and comes with tilting screen, 3.2MP camera, and customizable widget interface. The Pilot is an update to the i780 and includes 5MP camera with LED flash, front QWERTY keyboard, aGPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
