Sony Ericsson releases unlimited music and become FIFA official phone

Sony Ericsson made two announcements in addition to the women’s bluetooth phones. The first announcement was that it has been selected as the official mobile handset of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer to be held in South Africa.

In the second more important annoucement, SE launched unlimited music download called PlayNow plus service for both mobile phones and PCs. It will launch first in Sweden on the Telenor network in Q4, 2008 and will be rolled out worldwide in 2009. Also, SE will launch a special version of it W902 Walkman phone that is integrated into the PlayNow service. To kickstart the adoption, SE will include up to 1000 of recent popular tracks, both locally and globally, with each PlayNow™ plus phone.

Sony Ericsson launch 3 new Walkman phones

Sony Ericsson, yesterday launched 3 new phones in the Walkman series along with 7 new accessories: W302, W585 & W902. These are cool looking phones. All three phones are targeted to music lovers and also has built in FM radio receiver.  W302 also comes with TrackID music recognition system which can identify the artist and more for a given tune. The W585 allows users to share their music with friends over Bluetooth which is a cool feature. While this phone is specifically targeted for sharing music, the other two can not only play music, but also take photos. W302 comes with a 2Mpxl camera while the W902 comes with 5Mpxl camera. W902 will support 8GB memory card, while W585 will have 2GB and W302 will 512MB memory cards. All phones are slated for release in Q4 of 2008. No word on which carrier will carry these in US yet.
